Bit of an odd one really but I’m wanting to build a ½ scale garage to house a ½ scale car, it’s for a tiny person too
Seeing that the garage roof peak will be no higher than 1.5m and the base is to be 6 x 8 ft (old concrete greenhouse base) would I need any planning
permission for it? It’s going to be built from 6in concrete blocks with a 30 deg peak roof covered with concrete black tiles or second hand
slates.
I’m assuming it falls under that category of shed and so won’t need any permission??
Cheers
It should be a permitted development as long as the other factors involved are ok - look at the planning portal for info on permitted developments.
I'm going through this at the moment as I want to build a garage on the side of my house then convert the existing integral garage into another
room - I found the planning resource by useful indeed.
Sorry to hijack, but stevieb, what sort of quotes are you getting for the work? I'm moving into a house where im going to be doing the same work.

Check with the local council but it should all be covered in permitted development. Especially with the small sizes involved. I built a 4m x 6m garage with no required permissions at my current property. A quick 5 min chat with the local planning guy was very useful he told me all the max sizes I could go to before requiring building warrants and or permission.
