Had a scour through SVA manual but thought I'd check here aswell with people that have had the test done.
Is the emmisions test done with the engine at idle? I have a megasquirt insllation and thought I check before hand.
Thanks
at idle and at fast idle, 2500 RPM
Depends upon the age of the enigne. Some are just at idle. Others fast idle some 2500 and others all of the above.
yea my zetec max revs on the SVA is down as 6000, so its a percentage of that!
its not the max revs the engine can do but the max revs/max power (peak power) cause mine actually revs to 7200

ie; v8 2500rpm equates to roughly 40% max revs, whereas a bec 2500rpm equates to only 20% max power, surely an engine that is running at 40% would be throwing out more emmissions than at 20%
could be way off the mark here, but i'm sure someone will know!!

My X-flow was done at Natural Idle @ normal operating temperature, although the speed is not shown on the print out its about 800rpm

As Si says it depends on the age of your engine. Do you know when engine was manufactured ? you will need this information for SVA
Fortunately I have a huge folder on the history of the engine, was previously a 3.5 SD1 which then became a 3.8 on previous engine No. 11A00001A , so is dated between 79-80
