Just had an awfull thought, does the number plate light need to be E marked?
I'm planning on using a nice lice little led unit within a housing I've made and I've just seen an old one for sale on the bay of flea
and in the description it said "e marked".
So......just wondering if they (SVA men in white coats) check this or whether it really does need to be marked.
Cheers
Rich
The lights have to have either the correct e-mark OR be of similar brightness. Thats pretty subjective. They didn't check the marks on my lights.
I guess that they see what they look like and only check if they're doubtfull. That was Manchester and other stations might be different.

get an e-marked one and swap after sva? just to be safe like?
I've just had a look in the SVA book. There's no E-mark for No plate lamps but they must be...
"Such that the lamp or lamps are capable of adequatly illuminating the rear registration plate."
