I have some westfield rear uprights, brought some sierra calipers, and solid disc.
Just got all parts together, and put them in place, so see how it looks etc.
Things look a bit strange, as the caliper does not go anywhere near the bolt holes on the upright.
Do i need to use a spacer or something? Or should it just all fit together.
Are there different rear calipers? If so, which one should I of brought.
I keep buying wrong parts at the moment, and its doing my head in......
You can use either Sierra or Golf rear calipers, depending on which upright you have asked for.
Looks like you've bought a Golf caliper one.
you will be needing escort front discs not sierra ones.
I suspect you will be missing the carriers off the calipers. Without them the calipers are no where near.
I took these photo last night, just showing the carrier over the disc, and the gap that i am faced with.
yes had the same thing when building my westy
you need escort mk 3/4/5 front discs. they have a deeper dish.
Brilliant,,,, just the wrong disc... not so bad...
Does anyone know what model of escort, i should be looking at.
From what i can see from images, the 1.6/1.8 diesel ones seem to be correct??
The discs you want have an overall height of 58.2mm, those ones are 42.1mm. I bought the wrong ones too but couldnt work out what car i actually
needed them off! In the end I went to the motorfactors and they could look up the specs on the discs and we found the right ones.
EDIT: i've just realised those are the discs I sold to you having replaced them with the discs that you actually want! Oops!
EDIT 2: Do the discs appear to be too big? If those are the ones I sold you then they're XR4x4 rear discs and are also 13mm larger diameter than
the Escort fronts.
