McPherson Strut? you'll probably find it listed as front suspension strut....
Do you mean the plastic bit? I think they are just a dust cover
A red arrow?
Often listed as a suspension leg or listed wrongly as front shocker or shock absorber.
i mean the plastic bit.
It is some sort of bump stop
Don't think it's a bump stop, I think it's just to keep dirt out of the damper...
Their is a bumpstop inside the dust cover what you see is a destcover you can replace the bumpstop underneath or if your after the dust cover eith buy a universal(usualy ribbed design) or call few wreckers
sometimes called a gator

The shock absorber company Monroe sell the dust boot complete with the bump stop as a "Shock Absorber Protection Kit.".
On some cars the dust cover boot and bump stop are moulded in one unit.
You should find some on Ebay

Any reason for needing them? THey dont do much, most cars dont have them.
mine has them on and they have split
i was told they cost a fortune to replace and i wanted to start looking for some as i will be changing the suspension
I replaced the ones on my polo... were about £4 each... plus £6 for the rubber bump stop... Might be worth checking if the VW ones are the same size if the french ones cost too much
if your changing the suspension they'll come as part of the strut
