Ever since a full rebuild on my english axle i cannot stop the wheel bearings leaking after fitting brand new items
From speaking to many people the bearings im using seem to be of very poor quality and the oil is leaking through the bearings themselves. They have
the o ring on the outer casing
SKF rear bearings cannot be found for love nor money in the uk.
Any ideas where i can find a decent quality bearing that will solve my issues.
I would give these guys a call. They were really helpful when I need an odd-ball bearing recently - and their prices are more than sensible.
HTH.

You may be able to get some new old stock from somewhere like Past Parts in Bury St Edmunds
I'm interested in this too, we keep replacing ours with the o-ring ones and they're crap.
I'd assumed they were cheapo Chinese parts on eBay and ordered a much more expensive one from Burtons.
When it arrived it was the same as the cheapo ones, that bloody o-ring..
It's not been fitted yet, but I expect the 0-ring will be shaved off as usual and we'll be back to square one..
If you find a supplier of the old type without the o-ring, post here please
My last lot were from burton, no markings on them and generally s***e.
If i find a supplier of decent bearings will keep you posted Unclefesta, that o ring is doing nothing, they are that poor they leak through the
bearing themselves.!!!
It is a while since I looked at an axle but do they not have an oil seal inside the casing that runs on the halfshafts. I had to replace two a while back. This would make more sense than relying on the bearing to seal the oil in. Just a thought.
Ah yes macc man, there are two different sized bearings, the ones im after are the larger of the 2 used on the rs 2000, no seal on those im afraid

Don't suppose Squires do these to go with their updated driveshafts ?
The Rally boys must get them from somewhere
I'll email steve...
PS
ANY Markings on the ones you have now ?
SKF ones would have a coding on the outer ring so if you know what you need it *might* make them easier to find

Evening Buddy.
The part number for the SKF bearing is VKBA 960.
There is none in the uk anywhere mate.
Be interesting to see what steve says mate.
Don't know if you have tried these people, may be worth a punt. HTH Ray
Simply bearings
Cant help, or even recall what make the bearings i have sitting to be fitted are, but try calling 'Rally & Competition Equipment' just
north of stoke on trent which is where I ended up going for a RS2000 halfshaft.
