Brake flexi's

I was thinking of using front brake flexi's with a banjo end to bolt straight into my calipers for neatness. Anyone else gone down this route if so have there been any probs.

I gave it serious thought on my car, and then decided not to, purely on cost grounds. Those banjo fittings aren't cheap!

They do look better though, and probably help get the flexi lines orientated correctly to prevent chafing with the moving parts. (it's easy to adjust the exit position apparently).

Make sure the caliper inlet area is machined flat.
Also take some photo's of the inlet hole to prove to the SVA tester the holes are not tapered.

I used straight nipples and found that the flexi's interfered with either the tyre or the sides of the car no matter how much adjustments i tried. I orders straight banjo's and fitted them and it worked a treat. Only problem i encountered was that i had to use 3 copper washers rather than 2 as the banjo bolt kinda bottomed out in M16 caliper.. I'm using banjo's worked a treat. Was much easier to fit than straight fitting as you can point it away from anything its going to hit.

I ordered shorter bolts 20mm rather than 25mm as the 25mm where too long for the m16 caliper.

No problems with leakage, but make sure the surface area is clean and as rust free as possible.

You aint kidding Andy just bought all the bits, BF Goodridge stainless.
Nearly fell over, £96 for 4 hoses, the guy knocked me 25% off for trade and didnt charge me for the hose and thru bolts at that !!!!
Got to go and have a lie down now.

WHATTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bits from rally design to make 4 hoses will set you back around £30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is your supplier having a joke at your expense!!!

I'll go on rally designs site and have a look the bloke seemed geniune and the company were a BF Goodridge supplier Oakbray.
