Decided I am going to convert my top wishbones to rose joints to get some castor.
What size rose joints would people recommend?
Would 10mm bore and 10mm tread be sufficient or should I go to 1/2". Currently they have something like 10mm bolts in 13mm sleeves.
It's only the top bones I'm planning to mod at this stage. Ultimately I want to replace top and bottom but this is just clear my SVA fails
and get on the road.
Bigger the better I imagine, so go for the 1/2 " ones, Nick skidmore does them at a good price

Yep I was going to get them from Nick but drilling the brackets out to 1/2" might be tricky
I'll go out and have another look!
10mm should be more than enough. If you manage to break on of those i'd think you'd be in real doo doo!

You should be safe with 1/2" or 10mm. But bear in mind that quality of the joint is important. I have seen some high quality 3/8" joints
(may well have been 1/4" even) that are stronger than low quality 1/2" joints.

Be careful when selecting rod ends. For example, you can buy 10mm AM-M10 rodends that have an ultimate radial capacity of 50,227 Newtons, yet a 10mm
MM-M10 has a capacity of just 20,603.
Conversely, a 1/2" AM-8 rod end has a capacity of 72,231 Newtons and a 1/2" CM-8 rod end has a capacity of 37,087 Newtons.
So, you can find some 10mm rod ends that have a much higher capacity than some 1/2" rod ends, but it's imperative you do some homework on
this before you purchase any rod ends.
my homework ended at looking on the MNR website, im just going to order a full set of rosejointed front bones off him as soon as he's back on
general orders
