Searching the archives I see that bushes provoke a rather heated debate at times, but here goes...
My bush tubes are shorter than the metalastic bushes by about 1.5 mm. Is this ok? Do I need to shorten the bushes. Do I need to weld on longer
tubes?
On a related subject - when I started the build I was just going from the book hence 26mm OD bush tubes for bushes with a 3/8 ID. Now I see that just
about everyone uses 7/16 bolts at least. Will 3/8 be strong enough for "ordinary" use?
Cheers
Dave
My understanding is that the crush tubes should be slightly longer than the bushing itself, I would sell em and buy the right ones.
Wouldn't even bother trying to weld bits on the end.
Just my opinion

ere we go again

Ah....
bush tubes........
I might take a short holiday......
cheers

The outer tubes on the wishbone arms are shorter than the bushes. The inner tubes are the same as the rubber.

1: If your bushes are metallastic then they should be a press fit into the bush tubes on your wishbone and it won't matter a bit that the
bush is slightly longer than the bush tube.
2: The bolt should fit the bush properly, so if the bush has a 3/8" hole use a 3/8" bolt (which is more than adequate) or if the bush
has a bigger hole use a bigger bolt.
3: If your using poly bushes ignore all of that!!!!
The rest of you learn to read properly
