Shock operating range?
blueshift - 9/12/07 at 01:16 PM

I am making up the brackets for my rear suspension at the moment, using the GTS shock kit.

Should I be setting things so that normal ride height leaves the shock at half its range of operation? Or leave more for compression.. or what?

Normally fully closed is with the bump stop squeeezed to 50% of its thickness.

Just be aware of the limits of articulation of the transit drag link -- varies from different suppliers

Sorry braking into this topic.

I have 13"spaxes which can move 55 mm
As the bumpstop is around 30 mm a can say 70 mm is the movement?

So if the movement is 70 where should I aim for?

1/3 for drop and 2/3 for bump?

Thanks for the advise....

No problem, that's the question I'm still hoping for an answer to..

Folks usually say sit 1/3 way up "loaded".
(ie twice as much bump travel as droop)

Sounds good. worth knowing before I set my brackets in stone! (or steel)
