Interested in this LSD on ebay. There is black arround the hub on one side but not the other, is this anything to worry about?
The black is probably brake fluid where the pipe has just been cut through. At worst it may be the CV joint cover has split.
Gator is probably knackered and the oil on diff is around the breather so thats expected when tiped up on removal.
Id say it looks like that because the rubber boot on the CV joint is split and grease has gotten all over it. You might get away with replacing the rubber boot or you might have to replace the whole CV joint
Would you go for it considering it's 100 quid?
as usual you are rushing around again, have some supper and spend some time with the family andy-mate.
as for the sierra rear, yeah i would be happy with that for 100 as i paid the same for the open diff shafts hubs and calipers on my indy.
After a clean up i only fitted new bearings and CV gators, you pays ya money and take a chance
yep your right, i'm too excited he he!!
I'll take some downers and have me tea!
£ 100??? I've just bid £ 300
I'd have thought that the 'Black' is less likely to be the CV grease but more likely the driveshaft seal.
All you have to do is remove the driveshaft from the diff, remove the seal and tap a new one in. Usually the seal will be around £3 and alot nicer
job than a CV boot.
Ok thanks guy's.
oh so that's what your going to build now, good choice.
I thought so
