Hi,
Does anyone know if the 13x6" Ford RS wheels - the 4 spoke type old one - would fit an MNR with Sierra rear and Cortina or (if I will be able to
afford) Racelada front ends? Or should I rather go 14" to be sure?
Also, does anyone know the weight of these wheels?
I am planning to go cheap with the parts that I can upgrade later if needed, so looking at second-hand parts for the (hopefully not so distant)
build.
Thanks!
Gergely
can't help on the fitment, but whatever you do don't go for 14's. you only tend to get a good choice of performance tyres on odd numbered sizes, so 13", 15" etc etc...you'll be seriously limited on 14" wheels.
So how come I got a set of Toyo R888's for my 14" donor alloys, off the shelf in Middlesbrough?
Cheers
Mike
I'm doing the same thing - keep it cheap and upgrade later.
I've ust picked up my steel wheels that I've had blasted and powder coated, and will be fitting R888's.
I'd budgeted £500 for wheels and tyres, this way I'll save a bit and have a far better set of tyres too.
For tyres have a look at camskill.co.uk
I've got one wheel in my garage so I'll weigh it for you later - they are light though.
They'll definately fit Sierra rear drums, but I don't think they fit Sierra rear discs.

4kg using crappy bathroom scales.

Thanks guys!
If I stick to Toyo R888's I don't think availability for 14" will be a problem either, but I agree other performance tyre choices would
be limited, good point.
4 kg seems fine to me...
I am planning to use discs, so it seems RS's are not the right choice for me..
Hi the ford RS wheels weigh 6kg. The compomotive Lightweight CXR's weigh 4.5kg. Just been weighing all these today for a customer.
Cheers Matt
My 6x13 are definately 4kg!
They are genuine RS2000 and not Capri Laser.
Not sure if it makes any difference.
