If it is the one in the picture it looks way too good to break, sell it and get a wreck of some sort. I think the under pinnings are not too different from a contemporary Cortina so could be used.

I wonder sometimes just how many classic's Rons book has spelt death for??

Visions of going to car shows where the entire classic Ford stand is just empty...

If its a 1966 car its more likely to be based on the mk1 or possibly the mark2

It sould be a MK2. The car is reported to be in poor shape. The pix is only an example.
p.s. It has a V4 engine.

That makes it a Corsair they had a V4, not sure how similar the running gear is to a Cortina though

Don't think so, i am pretty sure it is RWD. Not sure about front suspension, may well be mcPherson strut rather han wishbones.

Tanus M12, M17, M20 which were sold between 1952 and 1970 were nothing to do with anything Ford UK designed, Although l the range was eventually combined with the US-UK-German designed Cortina MK3 in 1970. Having said that the original M12 used the old 1172cc side valve which of course was a US design..

It was the the first FWD car produced by Ford and remained so until the Mk1 Fiesta in 1976.
The M17 and M20 were RWD

The V4 used in the M17 and M20 later became more familar as the Cologne V4 which grew into the Cologne V6.

This was of course no direct relation to the inferior Essex V4 found in the later Corsair, Trannies and early Mk1 Capri 2 litre.
