Hi, im going to try and get the hubs together tonight and need some advice. I've got the cortina uprights and the ally hubs. Which bearing is the
inner and which is the outer one bearing is larger than the other?
Also has any one got any exploded diagrams of the upright and hub assembly?
Cheers
Adam
Inner bearing is the larger of the two. Sorry, I don't have an assembly diagram, but they are very simple.
goes like -
lip seal - bearing - bearing - washer - nut - spikey cap thing - split pin - dust cap
Fill the inside of the hub with black moly grease (like a whole handfulls worth) before fitting the outer bearing.
So as i think ive got it it would be upright with caliper, disc with 4 bolts loctited, black plastic seal, large tapered bearing, large race, ally
hub, small race race, smaller tappered bearing, washer, nut, spikey cap thing, split pin. Ive only got the dust cap off the alloy wheels which should
be fine.
The races need to be squeezed in right with vice or hammer? should i do this with the bearing in place or put it in afterwards?
You could also fit your bolts for the wingstays while you have the hubs seperated!
Steve
good idea, but wing stays are still being powder coated any idea of a bolt size id need though?
wing stays fit under the two bolts that hold the steering arm to the hub.
Hope this helps
