Prop bolts + drive shaft bolts
Dave Bailey - 20/2/08 at 12:44 PM

Anyone know the ford part #'s for the LSD diff drive shaft bolts and also the prop to diff flange bolts. I thought it would be easy but as usual ford want to know chassis # etc and of course I don't have it!

thanks

Wow! That is really harsh from ford - i went to the local ford parts depot to get some, they didn't even ask for a chassis number.

Infact, they asked 'You aren't building a kit car by any chance?' I said yes, they just laughed - apparently they get this request for the bolts all the time.

There is another post about this that was on here 1-2 weeks ago, will send a link when I find it - there is an eBay site who sells these cheap.

I've used 12.9 grade cap heads for the shafts. For the prop to diff flange you can go to Burton Power or there is (was?) a guy on ebay selling sets of 4 HT bolts (I think that they are M10 fine (1.0) by about 18mm IIRC). A search for something like "diff bolts" should bring them up.

What he said but I got my cap heads from a local fasteners supplier. Cost less than a fiver for the set.
