The B7 RS4 engine is one of Audi's Fuel Stratified Injection units (FSI).

The engine was sourced in 2007, and came from a 2006 MY Audi B7 RS4 that had covered 4k miles. My intention was to install it in an Ultima, but poor health has forced a change of plans.
The brief was to have a lightweight, powerful, high-revving and reliable power-train.
The Audi FSI system is notoriously difficult to control if the engine is removed from the production car due to the incredibly high fuel pressure required, therefore this particular engine has had the FSI system disabled.
First off, the engine was delivered to a professional engine-builder where it was stripped and ALL components cleaned and inspected. No faults were found whatsoever – everything was tip-top.
The power-steering and air-con pumps were removed and the internal drive gears were deleted. Their drive-ports were core-plugged.
The twin fuel-pumps were removed and the ports were core-plugged.
The water-pump assembly and drive were removed and the port was core-plugged.
The heads were sent to a specialist engineer and the FSI and Secondary-Air-Injection-ports were weld-sealed. A pair of bespoke aluminium inlet manifolds were fabricated along with a set of 8 aluminium velocity-stacks. These mate to a twin-set of Keihin throttle bodies with a set of 380cc/min injectors (max 460 BHP @ 80% duty-cycle).
The inlet manifolds and heads were then ported to match and the engine re-built.
Engine mounted oil-cooler and standard exhaust manifolds are present. I also have the OEM engine-sensors which will no doubt come in handy.
To complete the engine for installation, you will need:
1. To have new engine coolant pipes fabricated - I have sourced a set of damaged ones which will serve as templates, and I can supply the original RS4 water pump so that an inlet for an electric pump set-up can be made.
2. To have twin fuel-rails fabricated.
Any requirements thereafter would be unique to your install needs (wiring, ECU, flywheel, Clutch, electric water pump, plumbing, air-filter, radiator, ancillary oil-cooler, etc.). None of these are supplied, but I can recommend THESE GUYS as a top-source for most bits and information. They have worked on Audi V8's and V10's for Ultima installations and know their stuff!
I cannot warrant this engine – it is sold as seen. I would urge any interested parties to come up for the day and have a good look around it whilst it's still at the engine-shop. This would allow you to have all your questions answered by the builder.
So far, the engine has cost me around £8k
I would accept £5k for a quick sale (no haggling on this one I'm afraid... I think I'm losing enough!). I would also personally deliver it anywhere in the UK compete with engine stand.
I would also consider any 'interesting' P/X's... cars, bikes, etc.!
