My wife no longer has the time to care for our 6 hens with the arrival of our first born
so, from the wifes mouth:
They are lovely pets, really good layers and cheap to keep (a large sack of food is £10 and lasts a month plus scraps and nibbles you have left over
and then jusy sawdust and hay to clean them out). I am only getting rid of them as they are not coping well with enclosure life and are pecking each
other so look a bit bald and scraggy! They are not able to be free range in our garden due to the foxes and rats we have in the area so they need a
garden or bigger enclosure space to be able to get away from each others nibbling! They are free to a good home but you will need something to collect
them in e.g a large box or 3 cat boxes etc. I also have a large bag of feed to get you going.
we're near Norwich, let me know if you're interested. we just want them to go to a good home where they'll be cared for!
Ta

Can you take them to Stoneleigh...
could be tricky....
how do you ratchet strap a chicken?
Gently...
Freeze it first.
small cargo net. simples.
I'll have them if you can post!
I really do want some chickens too
Dartmoor isnt far
I just bought some! Dammit, but again, I can't see them flying down south by themselves....!
You could try Gumtree and Freecycle to appeal to the local market (not that sort of market!)?
chicken curry
chicken pie
roast chicken
cold chicken salad
chicken casserole
spatchcock BBQ chicken
Chicken n chips
chicken sandwiches
Chicken stuffed with Wensleydale cheese and wrapped in Bacon
chicken soup
sweet n sour chicken
The options are endless
suggested turning them into pies. Wife wasn't keen on eating her pets
Looks like we may have a home for them. Thanks for you input guys

We're just outside of Diss - so not far from you, and have a lovely chicken house waiting for residents.

I'm just outside Diss too.
We probably have space for a couple more hens in our run if they still need rehoming,
