Formula Jedi Mk6 Circuit Car
The ex-John Lord Jedi Mk6 (Mono1200F race lap record holder Castle Combe and Brands Hatch). Acquired by me in 2012 as an absolute novice introduction
to single seaters, wings and things, the journey since has been a lot of reliable fun. Now its your turn, you can only drive it far better!
This is a Formula Jedi circuit specification car, it's not composed of carbon fibre, it's old school steel tube and aluminium. The chassis,
engine, exhaust etc. are unmodified in any way. You have the option, therefore of racing the car in the FJ Championship (or others), and/or speed
events (for which is has an MSA logbook). Car is well known to John at the factory.
The essentials:
Mk6 LWB (extra 3" leg room) chassis, straight and powdercoated
Yamaha R1 5VY (last of the 1 litre 20 valve screamers), built to FJ specification by BSD.
AP LSD (the limited early batch of desirable extremely lightweight alloy flanged differentials), latest driveshafts.
It's all there, all complete and in excellent health. Fastidiously maintained.
Some other things:
Stack ST8100 programmable logging dash (the £1600+ thing), fuel and oil sensors renewed 2013.
All alloy panels black powdercoated.
Complete with transponder and everything else to go racing. NB: Harnesses will require a renew in 2014 if you enter a circuit race.
Reliable on-board starting, running and cooling. No batteries, compressed air bottles, laptop life support or crew required.
The car has been extensively photographed over the two years that I've been driving it in the British Sprint Championship. I've just
uploaded a few pictures into my archive here too. Several meetings reports can be found on the HSA and British Sprint websites. In 2012, the car took
the British Sprint 1100cc Class Trophy, the Britannia and Saxon Trophies, along with several class records and a few runoff qualifications(!) among
some dwarfing V8's. It did it all again in 2013, same 3 trophies, pretty good going, never missed a round or points (the only car to do so -
Wilkinson?), incredibly reliable little car.
Car comes with corner weight gauges, various sprockets (and useful data to go with them) spares (driveline joints, flanges, etc., etc.), a complete
package ready to go.
Yours for only £12,300
In addition a rather posh, fully enclosed GRP racebox available at a suprisingly low price if bought with the car.
Probably a long shot but is this still for sale by any chance?
We are looking for a Jedi to run next season.
Thanks
I did answer your PM, but in case anyone else find this thread....
The car is no longer with me, having been sold in 2013
