doctor I'm having trouble with my avatar!

Help....I've spent hours trying to do this avatar picture thingy, and only have a red cross to show for it.
I've followed the instructions in this thread(http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=73814) to the letter, but to no avail.
Back soon...I'm off to get a bigger hammer.

I think you may need to remove the spaces from the filename.

Also check to make sure your image is RGB not CMYK.

check that the file name shown when you look at the picture in the archives is the same as what you are typing into the avatar file name. It changes the characters round sometimes.
