Scuttle Front Panel
Dick Axtell - 16/3/05 at 06:24 PM

Someone has produced a one-piece panel, for covering the scuttle front (vertical) face, and the top of the footwell area.

Has anyone fitted this? What are the preferences, one-piece vs. 2 separate panels?
I reckon to make mine in Al sheet, or maybe polished stainless.

Finally, what's recommended for fixing - permament (rivetting) or removable (self-tappers)?

TIA

2 piece panel anytime. Any problems with footpedals or any accelerator or clutch wires and removing the battery tray/front bulkhead is a doddle.

Ever tried getting at the clasps from within the car Maybe "someone" hasn't been thinking about "in the eventuality that...."

Made mine as one piece, then cut out above the drivers footwell and made a separate cover, to give max access to the pedals underneath. Not fixed the scuttle in place yet, just finishing wiring etc, but will probably rivet in place, but with the drivers side panel easily removable.

I'm wondering if I left a hole (like a slide valve), would I be able to get a warm draught on my feet ?? ie heating without a heater??
