Double Sided Sticky Foam
The Baron - 23/12/06 at 11:18 AM

All,

I have just purchased MK Sports cars Double Bubble Aero Screen to fit on to my GTS bodied locost (nice bit of fibreglass).

I intend to stick it in place with some double sided sticky foam, say 1/8th inch thick!

Does anybody know where I can get something like this?

Cheers in advance,

The Baron

Try a double glazing supplier.

3M do a great one, if the surfaces are cleaned properly 1st you could tow the car with it.

Tow a car with it, that sounds like the stuff. I really really really don’t want to drill the scuttle; I did it to the bonnet and now wish I had not!!!!!

bummer.

You definitely dont want to use the foam tape - the joint is only as strong as the foam!

3M stuff is by far the best. I used it in the signs industry and it is a permanent bond so get the poitioning right first time as you won't be able to separate it once stuck

Considering that the screen is only likely to fall off at speed and the first thing it is likely to do is shoot backwards into your face, I'd make pretty damn sure its well stuck down... I know 3M make some pretty sticky stuff but I'd bite the bullet and screw it down!!!!
