Had the car today.
Very nice experience at MNR.
Thanks guys.

UPDATE : 18/1-2009
Chassis is ready for powdercoat next week.

But wich one.
I have my eyes on these two.

2008 with 2003 178 bhp Busa with zero miles.
http://images.pistonheads.com/aimg/692/692466-1.jpg

and

2006 with 2003 187 bhp ZX12 offered by MNR.
The car will be thoroughly checked at the workshop by MNR before sale.
http://www.mnrltd.co.uk/Oulton20Park2024mar07small.jpg

I thought I was going for the Busa but now I´m not sure.
I wanted to supercharge it later bot that idea is scrapped.

The ZX12 has race roolcage, dry sump and is rosejointed.
Overall just race style wich I like.

Car will only be doing trackdays.

Any input will be appriciated

Depends on the prices. The busa is bullet proof and has 0 MILES where as the zx12 has probably been raced hard.

adam1985 - 28/11/08 at 06:15 PM

personally id have the black busa very nice looking and a very good and upgradable engine

sorens2 - 28/11/08 at 06:16 PM

The Busa has 4000 miles on it.
The car itself is new.
ZX12 is about 1000 cheaper.

I´m a race kinda guy and love high-tech equipment such as drysump and carbon stuff.
Wich is why I like the ZX12 as it has "the race package".

Not strictly true. Still benefits from a dry sump and I have personally mashed two second gears in Autograss cars (might just be me though!!)

RichardK - 28/11/08 at 08:50 PM

I'd definatly get the MNR, you'll benefit from thier superb customer service as a side benefit.

Tought about that as well.
The ZX12 has a upgrade clutch wich would be a weak point ?

thegasmen - 28/11/08 at 11:11 PM

I know the guys at mnr and they mke a good car and if it was me i would have the hyabusa it is without shadow of doubt the engine to have.

regards Mick

pwl - 29/11/08 at 07:58 AM

If it is going to be a track car, I would go for the car with the full roll cage! It is not safe without!

P.S. great to se another Dane getting a MNR, I have build a RT+ this summer and I can tell you that you will not regret getting one.

Gergely - 29/11/08 at 09:02 AM

+1 on the full rollcage red one for a track only car. It also has the rosejointed suspension, great for track work.
For a road car I would pick the black car - very nice...

hi

my black Busa (the one for sale) is rose jointed on the rear and has fully adjustable camber settings and toe in/out all round

also i thought about a full cage but decided against it as it adds extra weight

plus you get the reliability of a std low millage engine/gearbox that will start when you want it to, which it does, and hasent been driven/raced hard all its life, it has more than enough power in std tune (trust me) to beat most things out there

i think thats enough of me trying to sell mine lol

cheers

Phil.J - 29/11/08 at 09:46 AM

I'd go with the 'busa engined car everytime. Those full cages make the cars look so ugly, I've been racing now for 32 years and have never come close to rolling a car.

Ivan - 29/11/08 at 10:56 AM

My vote goes with the black one.

marc n - 29/11/08 at 07:21 PM

finlays car is a nice car and as you are importing the q reg doesnt matter, a busa car on an 08 plate sold for 15.5k last week
i didnt know finlays was still for sale as it dissapeared off piston heads so presumed it had sold, the zx12 car doesnt have the same cage in the pic on your link its like the v8 racecar on the web

cheers

marc

Agriv8 - 29/11/08 at 09:50 PM

the busa because its black.

hi

yea its back for sale

i keep on chopping and changing my mind but as much as i hate to say it its up for sale, i m itching to start my next build

sorens2 - 2/12/08 at 10:35 PM

Chris has made me an offers I can´t refuse.
So I went for the ZX12R.
Thank´s for any info.
Car will be rebuilt by Chris with new type chassis, wishbones and bodywork.
GT3 Black/orange colourcombo.
And it will be refurbished generally as well.
Delivery late January.

richardh - 3/12/08 at 06:01 PM

fair enough
i'd have been happy with either!
on track work the tyres will always give out before the chassis does (unless you are really unlucky or kerb it into something that would flip you)
i'm thinking about a small block chevvy 5.7ltr v8 de-tuned to about 500 bhp for next year but still not sure as it means a lot of changes, diff, prop, etc................

sorens2 - 3/12/08 at 09:44 PM

I think that a heavy engine is quite a long way from Colin Chapmans idea.....
Way too heavy with a 350 cui.
A 7even should only have a small 4 cyl light engine if you ask me.
If your tyres can handle it a supercharger could be added.

richardh - 5/12/08 at 05:43 PM

r888's all the way
maybe a supercharger might be another way.

sorens2 - 15/12/08 at 07:31 PM

Damn..... I can´t wait.
Somebody warpspeed 1 month forward, please.

Soren S2

pwl - 18/2/09 at 10:17 PM

Looking good

How are you going to pick it up? I drove over there with a trailer thru the Euro tunnel, and I can tell you that it is a VERY long trip (2X1800 km) with a trailer behind the car!

Maybe I will see you at Knutstorp on the 28-04 or 14-05?

PWL

sorens2 - 19/2/09 at 06:05 AM

I borrowed a MB Sprinter carcarrier from a friend.
Sailing with the ferry Esbjerg-Harwich.
Maybe I can make it to Knutstorp on the 28.
We are going to Nürburgring the first weekend i may so I don´t know if I can find the time to go to Knutstorp as well.

Gergely - 20/2/09 at 12:27 PM

What do you mean different ?
As in colours ?
Stole it from the new Porsche GT3.
Black car.
Orange wheels, mirrors and cage.

New toy for the toycar.

I can´t seem to figure out which gear I´m in so an indicator was necessary.
Easy to fit. Good handbook.
