
What would you do if you were me?
Car running fine on Friday.
Saturday it wouldn't start (turns over fine but won't fire).
I've checked the fuel.
1.from pump to fuel rail,
2.coming out of injectors,
3.blocked the end of the fuel rail in case the fuel regulators not working.
Removed each plug lead and connected a plug. all have a good spark.
Checked the Throttle Position sensor. seems ok.
Changed the crank sensor.
Changed the EDIS.
Re-formatted the mega squirt.
I'm now unsure where to go.
I've Removed the scuttle to get to all the wiring all seems in place.
Has it got compression?
Does it sound like it used to when cranking it?

Isolate the efi, air filter off, bit of throttle and get someone to spray a little petrol into the carb mouths as you crak over, if its runs up then
its the EFI.
Still nothing then maybe its something else, if you spark from the crank sensor then maybe its a broken cam belt or jumped a few teeth. I knew someone
who had a passet that died, garage changed a whole host of things including the ECU, turned out to be a broken cam belt ! if its not obvious then back
to basics.

I think it sounds the same.
It used to start instantaneously so it's hard to say.
Cam belts not broken. I checked that.
Maybe it could have jumped a tooth though.
If the cambelt feels tensioned correctly I would be suprised if its hopped a tooth, Worth checking though.
If it has hydrolic tappets maybe they have pumped up and are holding the valves open a bit, this would be noticed as the engine spinning unusually
fast when cranking.

If it was OK when you last ran it it is unlilkely to be anything mechanical.
I would test that sparks are at the right time and that the injectors are firing correctly.
Remove the fuel rail and injectors. Turn it over and make sure you are getting fuel out of each injector. As long as you are adding fuel and the
timing is correct it should run.
Try removing the plugs and refit one at a time after heating them in a flame. Crank it after each fitment to see if any cylinder fires.

Should the injector squirt fuel at the same time the plug sparks? or should it squirt fuel before spark?
With MS the fuel squirts and the spark are unconnected. Usually all four injectors fire together once per engine cycle. Sometimes people have pairs of injectors alternating or more than one squirt per cycle, but MS does not do sequential (cylinder by cylinder) injecton.
One last thought, my megasquirt through a wobbler and started throwing fuel in, ie injectors open all the time.
It would not start then !
I suspect it was due to a dirty board, but took it off and replaced with a standard ECU as I was selling the car.
Try my suggestion above, disconnect fuel pump, crank engine over and spray some petrol into the carb mouths, prior to this crank over with plugs out
to dry out.

Get a can of easistart instead of squirting petrol although brake cleaner is just as good

Me again.
Still tying to get my engine started and I Think I may have found the cause.
After changing everthing electric apart from the Mega Squirt,checking the timing and getting a friend to check it also. I belive it to be fuel
related.
When I checked the fuel from the injectors last week, I was getting what I would describe as a gush of fuel. ( injectors stuck open maybe)
Today when we checked the fuel from the injectors it was a spray. However this is what we have found: Turn the key to activate the fuel pump no fuel
from the injectors, If we turn the key on and off fuel sprays form the injectors the more we do this the more fuel we get coming out of the injector.
if we turn the key to cranking no fuel comes form the injectors.
Any ideas of the cause of this? Is it a Mega Squirt setting that is wrong?
Doe's the vacuum reading have any affect on the injectors?
