Vapor (Trail Tech) speedo
Richard Quinn - 10/11/08 at 12:48 PM

Firstly, I wasn't too sure where to post this one so hopefully this is close enough.
I know that there has been previous posts about the Trail Tech Vapor dash and I'm guessing that a few people have actually fitted then by now. I am looking for a bit of help/guidance/inspiration for mounting of the speedo sensor/magnet. Has anyone got a description or, better still, a photo of their install?
Thanks in advance

Hi,

Drill a hole on the output flange on the drivrshaft and araldite the magnet , then make up a braket to hold the sensor and bolt to the diff

Is this any good. Used the mounting bolt of the sierra diff. Single magnet araldited/superglued into a drilled "dimple" on the driveshaft. once the wheel circumference had been calculated and programmed into the Vapor unit it works fine. I was completely amazed when this setup passed the SVA regs first time

I drilled and tapped an m6 hole in the output flange on the rear hub, then threadglued one of the bolts supplied with the kit into the hole. Then i made up a simple bracket to fit the pickup.
I fitted it over a year ago and it has been rock solid since.
