want to start buying in my cable and connectors and stuff

do i want:
0.5mm2 cable
1mm2 cable
2mm2 cable
3mm or 4mm?

i'm thinking 1mm2 should do everything except maybe headlights, fan and starter motor?

looking to buy from this dude, he's only just up the road from me

I've bought from Premier Wiring recently. Not arrived yet but looks a little cheaper than your guy?

£2.50 for 10m of 1mm Thinwall.

No doubt there's cheaper still out there though!

If you want plain colours vwp do it for about £5 for 1mm2 30m on a reel cheapest ive found

Rated at 16A thinwall

1mm thinwall will be fine for most circuits, as you say headlights, fan (and obviously starter feed etc) need somthing bigger.

what i like about my guy is he lives about 5 minutes away (no delivery ) and he does the 100m kit for £25 which works out the same as premier wiring, and its a choice of 27 different colours, mix and match, so equal lengths of each, or whatever.

but you reckon 1mm is what i should be after?

Worst thing about shopping on Ebay -I always get carried away and never really account for the cost of delivery!

1mm is what I intend to use on most of my circuits (rear lights, indies etc..)

Cheers

I *think* Mr Trigger Wheels sells cable sets and certainly used to give a nice little discount to members of www.se7ens.net. Not sure if that offer extends to LB readers!! He's based (or used to be) up in Ely.

I just bought 60m from that Kojaycat on eBay. Allowed me to get lots of different colours for wiring in my ECU. Trigger wheels also very good!

isn't 1mm thinwall ok for headlights? even if they are fed from the same wire it will only be 10amps. fan aswell? mine is just under 7amps(although i know startup load will be more)

Depends on the headlight, if they are ok with a 15A fuse then 1mm thinwall is fine. Some of the brighter ones may need the next size up. Same with the rad fan.
