The Acewell needs to "see" a trip voltage, something switching effectively. Whatever type of coil, coil pack or switching system etc. you have it should work from the switched side of the coil, doesn't matter whether that is one coil for 4 cylinders or an individual coil for each cylinder (you would obviously only connect to one!). It can also pick up from a switched injector.

I don't understand why it isn't working from wrapping the Acewell wire around the plug lead though, normally the high voltage running through the plug lead creates a voltage as it passes thro' the "coil" of wire you have wrapped around the lead & acts as an inductive pickup, you are using the slim yellow wire supplied with the Acewell to wrap around the plug lead?

Offhand I don't know what the connector on the back of the nodiz actually puts out, so no way of knowing whether or not you would expect it to work from that connection

Check your wiring diagram, the tach wire is a yellow wire on the main plug which has black, brown, red, blue & pink/white cables also on that plug.

The grey/white wire when earthed will bring on the "H" light for high as in a high/low transfer box as you find on some farm quads, I've never seen an Acewell loom with markers on individual wires, so no idea where your tacho identification of that wire has come from???

Would explain why it doesn't make the tacho work tho' .................

Has the Nodiz got a tacho output?

Just connected my acewell to the ecu output and all was well..

i got a full car loom with the acewell wired in and instructions that say white grey wire is tacho there are a few others wires for windscreen wipers etc that I aren't using so I think ill see if it works with one of them and its just misslabled if not its time to start stripping the insulation I think

You need to trace wiring back to the actual 7659 unit itself, I can assure you the tacho wire will be a yellow wire
