What are you doing to your car today?
theduck - 21/10/12 at 09:25 AM

It's a fine autumnal morning and I think most of you who are on the road ate considering starting your winter mods, and those of us who aren't are still cracking on with the build. So what will you be doing today?

I'm going to be replacing my perished steering rack gaitors, not the most exciting job but waiting on parts and decisions before I can do others.

Nothing - raining in Cape Town so was trying to work out how to use Torrent and now lying on the couch reading in between checking this site out.

rb968 - 21/10/12 at 09:34 AM

Wiring up a Microsquirt and EDIS to my Indy.

Then reading up on what the hell I need to do to get it started!

Rich

big_wasa - 21/10/12 at 09:50 AM

I may start the old girl up and warm it up.

If I can work out how to do it , I could try and send you the settings from mine ? I seem to have time on my hand(s)

As for me - I going to have a go at fault-finding my Mx5.........how hard can it be

David Jenkins - 21/10/12 at 09:53 AM

Looking at the rain, and the weather forecast for the next few day, I might put the dust cover over it.

daniel mason - 21/10/12 at 10:16 AM

pondering over where to fit my dry sump tank!

SteveMX5 - 21/10/12 at 10:18 AM

Work for me

JeffHs - 21/10/12 at 11:23 AM

Just been for a blast with the new tonneau cover fitted. It's cosy with the side screens on, but there's not much elbow room. Going for a longer drive round the Peak district now. It's not raining here!

tomgregory2000 - 21/10/12 at 11:24 AM

Sticking more bits to the landy

ian locostzx9rc2 - 21/10/12 at 11:48 AM

jonabonospen - 21/10/12 at 11:59 AM

Going to go clean up the Freelander diff and give it a few coats of paint inbetween trying to watch the touring car races.

spiderman - 21/10/12 at 12:44 PM

Fitting rear mudguards and doing a bit more wiring.

Mark Allanson - 21/10/12 at 01:30 PM

This morning, went over to the new garage to tidy up - I have some much car stuff surplice to requirements!, diffs, racks, columns, driveshafts, nearly enough to make a complete new car! Noticed the garage door is past repair so I am now making a new one out of tree wood.

AndyW - 21/10/12 at 01:30 PM

Trying to find out why Im getting a o2 sensor fault code

Staple balls - 21/10/12 at 01:38 PM

Washing the tintop mostly ,

However I have litererally just this minute noticed the bag of connectors I need to rewire my engine for happy smoky goodness, so that'll be done this evening.

coyoteboy - 21/10/12 at 03:19 PM

Nothing, I've spent 2 weekends getting 2 tin tops through MOTs including most of the suspension being replaced on one, and a 3rd weekend buying another for the othe half, so I'm insulating the loft as a rest.

Ninehigh - 21/10/12 at 03:31 PM

I'm letting mine have another day's rest while I've been out in my mum's Prius

Incidentally even with the 215/45/17 wheels it's a nicer ride than my 206

Proby - 21/10/12 at 03:38 PM

I'm trying to write a shopping list for my 919 blade engine fuel injection conversion, while sitting at the mother in laws! Might have to start my own thread!!!!

mark chandler - 21/10/12 at 05:10 PM

Fresh oil and filter for my last track day of the year on 30th at brands

Then it gets hibernated as out looking for another house with a huge garage

Nb/ mega squirted mine before putting the turbo on, definitely faster than dynojetted carbs when n/a

Xtreme Kermit - 21/10/12 at 05:41 PM

After yesterday at Curborough with the Quantum Owners Club with Kermit, today has mostly about building up a shed base.

Until the rain came, that is...

loggyboy - 21/10/12 at 06:03 PM

Nothing really today, but powdercoated lots of bits yesterday

Reported. again!!

has there been a change of pram strategy?

whitestu - 21/10/12 at 08:08 PM

Just walking round it in the garage as usual. Renewed my insurance last week. When I gave the mileage declaration the guy told me I'd done 70 miles since last year!

i didn't get to the kit today but in the past 48 hours my tin top has had, new rear shocks, discs and pads and new front shocks, discs and pads! oh and a jolly good clean, and a new fuel filter, air filter and pollen filter! just need to change the oil now!

can you tell the MOT is near? needs 4 new tyres too!

Stott - 21/10/12 at 08:19 PM

Funny enough I too replaced my rack gaiters and fitted IVA covers for the rod ends.

I also made 2 armrests, upholstered them and fitted them, painted the rollcage again as I scratched it during the build, and I just finished di-noc - ing a bonnet bulge, very nice it looks too.

Did you know there's a big market in prams. I do now lol

Finally decided on one.

No more pram talk. But it does have 4 wheels and not Locost

sounds familiar
(and I just realised I forgot to do my fuel filter again ! - that ~40,000 miles that I've been meaning to change it )

spent most of Saturday and Yesterday fitting one new brake pipe to my tin-top....
also discovered just how small a space I can my hand in to tighten a brake union - and you long that takes when you can only get 1/20 of a turn on the spanners

on the plus side the brakes are as good as they have ever been and its not peeing dot4 all over the place anymore
