I started my build in 2001, ford Sierra 2.8 v6 4x4 then I sold my part build in 2012 when i was made redundant and bought a Lotus Elise toyota powered

Things move on moved house got a bit land build next to the house built a big shed and sat browsing marketplace last Sunday and what popped up……yip my same part built. Stripped of a few parts.

So yip i bought it back, collected it today.

Now i need to see what donor to use after 20 years, back then the cast iron v6 gave 150bhp and weighed more than a pallet of bricks

After having had an Elise i know 2wd, 189 bhp for a 750kg if plenty

So im thinking around 200-250 bhp standard and could get chipped if required
- Alfa Gulietta 2.0turbo
- BMW 3 series or z4 2.5 or 3.0
- Chrysler Crossfire merc v6 manual
- But im seriously looking to a Jag XE 2.0 250 bhp with flappy auto but a lot of electronics would need deleted. i had an xf 3.0D for a few years and
It had the dynamic button and Made the car completely different almost angry so much fun

Depending on your budget I would go for -

Honda K24 which are around 200hp stock and can easy make 240hp and if you supercharger or turbo 400hp is possible without opening the engine. If you want to stay NA then the K20 would be good and you get a 8500rpm red line. K24 are available for around £800-1000.
BMW GS7D36SG 7 speed DCT or 8HP60/70/80 auto box. £750 ish
K24 BMW adaptors and flywheels are available £1000 ish
MaxxEcu which can control either BMW box. Several versions available and check which DCT box you need. Info on their website.

This would make a tidy setup I think and as it has all been done before should be easier than newer engines with direct injection where the ECU will be expensive or difficult to sort out.

Just my 2p worth, sounds like a nice project and great you can resurrect your own work.
