Detling
Noodle - 24/3/04 at 02:10 PM

With Darren (of GTS fame) alluding to providing biscuits at the Detling show, I thought it worthwhile helping him along little by narrowing down the bewildering choice available from his local biscuit emporium.

I've provided some basic choices, but c'mon, let's hear your preferences.

Cheers,

Neil.

theconrodkid - 24/3/04 at 02:15 PM

how come you only get one choice?

James - 24/3/04 at 03:52 PM

Lol!

Ben_Copeland - 24/3/04 at 04:55 PM

Ooooo OOOOOOOooooooo too many to choose from !!!

Chocolate digestives rule

ChrisW - 24/3/04 at 06:52 PM

Out of that list it's got to be Jammie Dodgers but Double Choc Maryland cookies will always rule the biscuit tin!

Chris

JoelP - 24/3/04 at 07:08 PM

Hob nobs rule!!!

Noodle - 24/3/04 at 07:53 PM

Deprived Black Country upbringing will always point me to custard creams. Hob Nobs are for them posh 'uns ay they?

Could this be significant of a North/South, High Brow/Low Brow cultural divide?

Mmmmm.

Neil.

dozracing - 24/3/04 at 09:18 PM

To examine the north south devide we will have to run this pole again before Stoneliegh and see if the results change!

I hope some of you lot buy something my profit margins are going to really suffer if i have to provide all these different varieties of biccies.

Anyone fancy keeping me company and helping out on Saturday? Everyones deserted me, maybe they think you'll all be a hostile crowd.

The other idea i've had is can someone from the list do an advert (A4 sized) for the list, so any real Noobies who take an interest in the car might get attracted to get into the list. Send it to me in Word format and i'll print one out and add it to the catalogue/brochure.

stephen_gusterson - 24/3/04 at 10:59 PM

A4 ad seems a good idea - sounds one for ChrisW

BTW -

im a fig roll man with hob nobs second

who the heck would choose custard creams over others?

sick, sick, people

bob - 24/3/04 at 11:42 PM

Hob nobs must be a southern thing then

Shall i bring my own flask darren or will you have the filter coffee on

dozracing - 25/3/04 at 12:10 AM

Not sure what do to about drinks, maybe a flask of each.

JoelP - 25/3/04 at 09:44 AM

when is detling? this weekend?

actually, doesnt really matter when its that far away!

[Edited on 25/3/04 by JoelP]

ChrisW - 25/3/04 at 10:19 AM

Who else chose fig rolls? You're all sick!

Darren - drop me a u2u re the advert!

Chris

Peteff - 25/3/04 at 10:23 AM

Definitely custard creams. There's only one way to settle this. FIGHT . I think all biscuit packets should come with a warning on the side. Recommended dipping time 0.03 seconds(times may vary). We accept no responsibility for injury by scalding when trying to retrieve biscuits which fall in tea due to excess dipping time.

GO - 25/3/04 at 12:03 PM

Penguins!

The edible kind obviously, and none of the sort that have been battered by a Yeti either.

I thought Detling was something to do with gentlemen who are light on their feet, as they say.

Cheers,

Neil.

ned - 25/3/04 at 01:39 PM

righto steve.

Darren,

As i'm not going to detling i wouldn't say i was suggesting pink wafers (well, at least not seriouusly ) perhaps if the biscuits go down well, i could see some at stoneligh instead?

Ned.

DaveFJ - 25/3/04 at 01:42 PM

Hmm fig rolls... A Prince amongst bicuits...

More of a cake really but still a Prince.....

stephen_gusterson - 25/3/04 at 01:47 PM

yanks call em fig newtons

15 years ago I worked at a company that did vision systems to control the cooking (by colour) of biscuits.

I made a living from it.......

A bikkie oven is quite a thing. As they need to be a flow process - not batches - the oven is approx 250 ft long, and has 6 controlled zones to phase the heat and get the best cooking vs moisture content.

The ovens can be lekky, gas or diesel powered. The diesel ones taint the flavour a bit but are used in arabian countries.

ijohnston99 - 25/3/04 at 02:43 PM

Disappointed that they don't mention gypsy creams on the MIA page!

theconrodkid - 25/3/04 at 03:11 PM

so we got the biscuits sorted, next question, bacon buttie or burger rolls, red or brown sauce

DaveFJ - 25/3/04 at 04:01 PM

bacon buttie and brown sauce - no real question there....

Chris Leonard - 25/3/04 at 05:02 PM

Its gotta be fig rolls - nice and tasty and keep you regular - what more can you want from a biscuit

GasGasGas - 25/3/04 at 06:16 PM

Burgers 'n buns and red sauce = mad cows - tits and "Blob"
A messy meal in one!

chrisg - 25/3/04 at 07:01 PM

I know this thread has been posted just to wind me up, as I'm not allowed biscuits anymore.
