4wd skoda octavia?
golf r32?
its a tricky trade off tbh, full time awd is safer in changing conditions but you dont get a centre difflock in most 4wd cars, or part time 4wd which
is more dangerous in these conditions(ie you're in RWD usually), but when stuck you have better traction to set off again by selecting locked
4wd.
I was looking at Legacys on ebay just now for this very reason!

Lots listed here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_wheel_drive
The Ford Zodiac mk4 had a Ferguson 4wheel drive system in the late 60s as did some of the Jenson Interceptors. Not very common though
Wasnt very impressed with the A4 quattro in front of me in the snow this afternoon, it was all over the place up the hill near my house. Mind you he
was revving the taters off it, my little Combo van didnt have a problem.
Cheers,

Celica gt4

Honda CRV
Freelander
Nissan X Trail?
VW Tuareg?
Not sure if these are what youre looking for, as i think they are all viscous 4WD, but maybe that would work better in a locost than in the donors!!
Audi A5
Toyota Tercel.
mitsubishi 3000GT?
Ford Mondeo
Jaguar X type (get it?)
Loads of other boring tin tops as well..
subaru justy
fiat panda
Golf G60 syncro
we're getting confused between AWD and 4WD! AWD is only full time 4WD, not part time 4WD like some above!
mk5 escort rs2000
bmw 325 early ones
most mercedes cars can be had in 4matic
mk1 mondeos
granada mk3
most vw range have syncro or 4motion including sharan/galaxy/seat

To add some exotica to the list...
Alfa 164 Q4
Peugeot 405 T16
Mitsubishi Gallant VR4
SAAB released an AWD 9-3 recently.
Why are we listing these cars? and more importantly, why isn't this in Car related?
There are two different 4WD pandas (More is you count racing ones) but both are selective rather than full time if that makes any difference. I
believe the Nissan cube has a simillar set up to the Fiats.

Listing them outof curiosity really, Id been looking at a B5 A4 Tdi and after a friends experiences with his S4 Quattro in the snow decided that given
the option it was a sensible thing to have.
That lead me to the passat 4 motion, and I was aware of some of the others. If I do go for a 4wd diesel car, I want a car, not a "jeep" or
offroader sort of thing.

I take it your looking at getting one of the above? my wife was given a 99 V 4motion Passat last year, and have to say it's absolutely brilliant - driving it over the last few weeks has really shown the benefits of the 4wd - not the most economical being a 30V V6, but still above 30mpg most of the time.

Careful. 4 wheel drive = power to 4 wheels - simple as that. Many ways to achieve this mechanically. 'All Wheel Drive' belongs in the same category of marketing waffle as 4x4, Quattro, 4-motion, etc etc, which mechanically mean whatever a company wants it to mean.
