I use DVD catalyst 3, available free from all good torrent sites

I use AVS Video convertor for single conversions. Handbrake is ideal for batch conversions though.

I use the converter made by Redkawa for my Ipod touch (IE the same). Works very nicely too.

Hi,
I use handbrake on my Mac either in interactive mode or batch mode and it works great. I use the "Universal" preset which allows me to view the resulting m4v file on either my iPhone or my Mac (or Apple TV if I buy one) with excellent quality. This preset retains the full DVD quality while at the same time reducing size to between 1.0 and 2.5GB per movie.

Encode time on my 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo is around the same time as the movie would normally run for (often a bit quicker in fact).

Good luck,
Craig.
