who do you use as a courrier?
daniel mason - 9/3/10 at 06:06 PM

went to the post office today to send some bits i sold on ebay, but the post office would not take a few of the items as they were large and awkward shapes. the items are not heavy.(the heaviest is an s2000 bootlid at around 8kg) i called dhl with a rough size and weight and they quoted £55 as i have no account and have never used them before! any other options as these need sending this week?

parcel2go.com, although they are an agent/broker for some of the others (inc dhl, but are usually cheaper)

Parcel2go or shipley for the larger items

or interparcel.co.uk or .com
they take anything upto pallet size

where's it going?

scootz - 9/3/10 at 06:28 PM

interparcel...

daniel mason - 9/3/10 at 06:30 PM

there is 3 items going to different places! this is a problem as you have to make 3 seperate orders. if you say you have 3 packages it only gives you one delivery adress!

DPD is cheap.....

Found Senditnow (Parcelforce in a cheap suit) pretty good, recommended to me by someone on here

City Sprint I found OK.

I would have loved to see you roll up at the local GPO with a boot lid under your arm

Dangle_kt - 9/3/10 at 07:28 PM

if you use a broker DONT pick HDNL from the list, they are crap.

We use parcel 2go for lots of stuff but for awkward shaped things also parcelmonkey - sent a racing bike to London for about £8 and despite 2nd class service it got there next day, also a jeep soft top and some long roof supports went with them for similar money.
Just had some leaf springs sent down from Scotland with post office and they charged £15, I fear their days are numbered which is bad news for those of us living out of townatb

I've tried a couple of couriers direct with success but parcel2go is very easy to use and quick to get estimates so I tend to use them mostly.

They almost exclusively use DHL anyway and its easier and cheaper then going to DHL direct as well!
