Finding a family member in England
Ivan - 9/4/10 at 08:04 AM

I have (had?) an old aunt in England who I last spoke to on the phone for her 100th birthday some 18 months ago - have misplaced her contact details but would like to know if she is still around - Google hasn't helped much but is there any other register of people that can help me find her address or phone number.

Do you know what area of the country she lives. Could maybe request a copy of your phone bill (if you called her) and work on a process of elimination around those dates?

Could also try 192.com but you need to buy a minimum amount of credits I think, however, if she is any kind of nursing home or anything like that then the electoral roll and 192.com might be a bit of a non-starter

Yes - she was in a nursing home in Southend on Sea I think.

Thanks all - you have given me something to work with.

This site is amazing - you can learn anything on here.

Do you know the names of any of her descendents?

Clearly she's pretty unlikely to be on Facebook! As are her kids or even grandkids (assuming ages 101, 75, 50) but you might find great-grandkids on there if you drop really lucky!

Cheers,
James
