What I think is that the antelope was suffocated, passed out and regained consciousness and ran off. The timing was just pure luck.
I doubt very much it was down to the animal thinking about how to outwit a leopard and a hyena.

Yup. Wasn't strangled enough so started breathing again when the cheater ran off. Being bitten on the knackers probably also woke it up. Simples.
