Is anyone on here into wood turning?

I'm looking for a favour

I need a couple of solid blanks made to a template in a fairly hard wood I can paint and then mould over. The pieces are 100mm long and 50mm diameter maximum. If anyone would be up for turning these to a template drop me a U2U

Cheers

Speak to a local techy teacher.

I presume these are to mould an inlet trumpet around.

Alistair if it isn't a rush job I'll get one of the guys to have a look at it once the exams are through, alternatively I can sell you a lathe and you can knock your own out!

Yeah its for an inlet trumpet, seems the easiest way to get the correct shape/size. No rush really at the moment!

Hadn't thought of asking at school, might be worth a shot, otherwise if youre up for it Mike it would be much appreciated!

Cheers

I used a drill press to turn a gear knob from wood using metal files - not ideal but for a small one off job, may be something you may consider trying? No good if you don't have a drill press.

If you have a welder and steel, you could make up a frame for a cordless drill to be a turinining lathe? Just another idea but no good if you don;t have a welder.

Im sure I could mount it in my metalwork lathe but I wondered if someone might fancy a random turning exercise and figured someone who has done some and has the correct tool would make a MUCH better job
