how do you cut a light socket of of glass

see this on ebay Item number: 220783124769 Lux Glass Splashback Splashbacks ,so i wanted to make some for my house but i have plug sockets do i just drill the glass for the wire and screws or should i try to cut them out? i was just going to get some 6mm glass and paint it with gloss pain any coulour she like .i was going to use normal glass not safty glass.

Andywde can cut that glass to any shape/ holes you want..... just along the m8 from you

this ebay shop is over the road from me and could advise you, they cut out socket holes but you
have to measure well

i think you are supposed to make an exact template from ply (same thickness as the glass) and cut back boxes out exactly. thats what the kitchen fitters who we do their wiring do. then someone else manufactures the glass. i wouldnt attempt to cut it myself unless i knew it wouldnt facture the glass.

you can cut it your self but you will need a diamond tipped mini cutting disc (on a dremel or something similar) and you will also need to immerse the glass in water or haf the hose on it to prevent heat build up.

have done it plenty of times on my mates american trucks when we do roof chops but it takes ages with the above method.

Most companies sub this sort of work out to water jet cutters. Works well for pocelain tiles and other hard materials.
