TKC/Total Kit Car mag?

Has any body ever seen TKC/Total Kit Car mag on the shelf of their local news agents or do they read the online version? I'd never heard of it untill today when I got an email from the editor.

I haven't bought a kit car magazine in donkeys years.

Petty squabbles, adverts repeated throughout the magazine, non stories which you can read anywhere.

That'll be a fiver / six quid.

From a newbie on the kitcar scene I totally agree with you Zilspeed. The in fighting is not a good advert for the industry and they are not good advocates for those that struggle in this current climate. If the magazines can't agree or get on or offer new material it doesn't encourage new participants to the kitcar scene. Sadly my experience of my chosen kitcar mirrors the state of the magazines particulary Kit Car Magazine.

Better mag is Complete Kit Car IMHO - they actually write new stories every month, and don't make a habit of slagging off Totally [meaning totally photocopied] Kit Car (even though they would be justified doing so).

Edited to add that the photocopied one is called 'Kit Car' and not 'Total Kit Car' - thanks for that, Iank.

I had a subscription to one of them (cant remember which) for a year and alot was the same. At the same time I was also buying a couple of the others everytime I went on holiday just incase they had a different thing to read.

By far I think the best read for this industry is PPC mag. Nothing to do with se7ens and kit cars as such but does have many useful articles that can be related to, especially if you are building.

Just go on the TKC website - that way you can see all the adverts without having to pay for them (and you'll not really miss out on any stories, either).

Another vote for PPC - it has a load more useful/interesting articles. I like to read the articles and pretend in my own mind that I have the talent to emulate the results myself. One day I will put this to the test and then will know for certain that I'm not that good

Another one for CKC. I have to admit I have a few little things I dislike about the mag but if you email them or even post on here CKC are happy to chat about it and I like that personal touch. For me, now that I've finished building it keeps me in touch with whats going on, keeping an eye in so to speak and it isn't the same stuff month to month like TKC.
I'd like to see a project car built and raffled off in CKC. That would be great. I've got my eye on Ian Stents CC Cyclone

I for one will never buy another KIT CAR magazine or any other run by Den Tanner or Big Ed as he calls himself. Last one I brought Sep 2010 , had a GTM coupe advertised which on calling the owner I was informed that it had sold 18months previously so even the ads are recycled. It would also help if they knew the difference between a bolt and a set screw

Complete Kitcar is the best at the moment, and the only one I buy reasonably regularly (no repeats).
TotalKitCar is second place
Kitcar is the one with the repeats and the only one that still trash talks the opposition.

As features editor of Complete Kit Car magazine, it pains me to read comments like this!

The magazine has been running for well over four years now and we have never, and will never, become involved in the "petty squabbles" you hate or repeat adverts throughout the magazine. We also work hard to ensure the content is of high quality, but that's for you to judge!

Why not give us a try? And it'll cost you much less than a fiver!

Wy not get that designer to come up with a body design for the Ginetta and do a re body project, sure John's fibreglass skills would come to good use.

A thank you goes to Adam at CKC for the complimetary copy of CKC magazine and apologies from me in not making it clear in my original post, that my views on the current kit car magazine scene are aimed predominantly at Kit Car Magazine which I no longer purchase.

Nothing to do with the free mag, honest

I had a pretty pleasant dialogue with Adam too and it does seem there is a genuine support for CKC.

I wish them well.
