Hi People.
I've just bought a small MP3 player from e-bay and although it plays OK there is a constant buzzing coming from the earphones. It's much
worse if it is turned down. With it turned right up I can't hear the buzzing but surely this isn't right.
Has anyone else experienced this sort of problem with these small devices? Is this normal? Don't really want to send it back all the way to
bloody Hong Kong

(no, its not normal but sometimes you get bad encodings of music hence the comment)
I've tried some different music but not head phones yet. Busy searching for others.... I'll kill those kids of mine...
bit drastic for a buzzing £5 pound mp3 player ....... 
Its probably the headphones....
If they are cheap crappy ones that came with the player you are better off ditching them anyway.
Sennheiser make some nice in ear ones that sound brilliant for what they are and will cost you all of £20.

Yes, but did you see the price of the postage? 15 quid making the player 20. It actually cost him about 3 quid to post so the rest of the money was
towards the player.
Earphones are fine in my CD player. Looks like I've been done

if its easy take it apart and have a look for a slightly iffy connection
I'll second the dodgy connection theory. Bad earth I'd say. Take it apart and re-solder it.
Surely though its still cheap enough to be used as a 256mb pen drive.
The buzzing may be caused by a dodgey solder on the mainboard, the trick is to unsolder it and then resolder it, some have tried adding silicon to
dampen the vibrations.
