Had the old welder and chop saw out all day, reminds me i much i miss all the fumes, dust and satifaction of seeing nice shiney new bits of metal going in.....

That's a bit cruel considering on only burst a hose because you didn't give it any method of pressure release and the tacho is a bit dodgy!

We will have to set up a Save the Abused Locost Society.

Have you fitted a real roll bar yet ?

I sincerely hope so, because the one it had when it was in my ownership was a glorified bit of exhaust tubing.
P.S. How was the engine for track use ?

ah, my fault, i refer to the beast in the garage, and it is actually going to get scrapped shortly to make space for a proper winter build.

Zil, the locost was wonderful on track. Obviously more power is needed, and the handling doesnt instill confidence - did you notice the bump and brake steer?! Its possible ive bent something, but the rack is too big and the castor is the wrong way round. Still, once your used to it its bloody good fun! And the roll bar is still dismal, i made sure my friend knew that rolling it meant dying, before i let him out!

Ive spoke to marc n about a cage and new bones to sort the castor, but he's busy for a few weeks. Rack is coming soon

The mintex pads and grooved discs are awesome though, such abuse all day and it never really faded. Biggest problem on track was catching both throttle and brake at once when trying to stop (probably sounded like clever heel and toe to bystanders!)

So all in all, its going well im considering doing donnington on 29/12, but it feels a bit bad doing monthly trackdays - bad for the car and bad for the wallet!

i say more power needed, but thats only to avoid getting overtaken so much - the sound of bike engines whizzing by got tiring by the end of the day it never felt sluggish when i was lapping on empty track
