Locost Language
liam.mccaffrey - 27/4/06 at 09:52 PM

I have notitced a few terms and acronyms used on the forum which I think are fairly unique to Locostbuilders and this specific hobby, some more than others. These are the ones I can remember now

NTDWM ( maybe not)
TOL
cymtrics mods
McSorleys
BEC
"The Book"
"The Tool"
Uncle Ron

Any one think of any more I know there are some

DorsetStrider - 27/4/06 at 10:06 PM

Unit of currency - a 'Ron' is 250 quid of course.

MikeRJ - 27/4/06 at 11:28 PM

SWMBO is used very often on here, par for the course if you are married and need to spend significant time in the garage playing cars I suppose

TOL The Other List. I believe this was a predecessor forum to Locostbuilders which crashed and burned 'cos people on it started infighting
cymtrics mods Sorry, clueless on this one
McSorleys There a chappie called McSorley who drew up a set of plans based on 'the book' (explanation for this below) but widened by 4" so that normal human beings could fit in it. I believe there is also a 4" longer version.
BEC Bike Engined Car
"The Book" This refers to the book written by Ron Champion entitled 'How To Build Your Own Sports Car For £250'
"The Tool" refers toa Dremel multi-tool or it's derivatives by Black & Decker et al
Uncle Ron The aforementioned Ron Champion

Any one think of any more I know there are some

And of course the classic...

ROFLMAO - Rolling on floor laughing my ass off...

Many of these are used on other crazy forums eg IIRC NTDWM SWMBO etc

Oh and TOL was a yahoogroups email list NOT a forum...

and

"The Tool" used to refer to a wire cup brush angle grinder attachment used for stripping rust of things.

and

Cymtriks mods refers to strengthening mods to the book chassis to increase rigidity.

The Tardis

It's like a f*cking tardis, go in at five o'clock and shes calling "do you know what time it is". We've all been there (regularly) time disappears.

That Bitch

You spend more time with that bitch than me. Please note this is not a complaint by the wife just a statement
