Hi All

HAs anybody on here had much to do with Endurance Rallying http://www.endurorally.co.uk/

I always fancied doing the old Lombard and this looks like a bit of fun!

I wouldn't use the single seater btw! Something like a Rover 200 or Peugeot would be cheeap enough?

Regards

Wyn

A couple of my friends went along to marshal at one of these and a seriously trying to persuade me that its a good idea (supposedly I have the perfect car for it, a 205xs)

It does all sound very cheap, yes actual cheap motorsport. The only regs are cars are 1400cc or less, it has to have at least a half cage, harness and the control colway tyre. Other than that cars have to be pretty standard. You don’t even have to wear a helmet but advisable! Also highly advisable to skid pan the vulnerable hanging bits.
I think entry is in the region of 190 quid for over 300 miles of road and off road stages over the weekend. I also think it’s a £50 reduction for sub 1000cc cars. Does sound quite fun, I just have to get over my dislike of mud!

I've always loved driving in the forests and road events are my real passion (but never driven on one) so I may have a go.

I'm tempted to aim for next year's Lombard.......

some people need shooting!!!! you're one of them.

Been reading PPC and thinking, you know, i should get some idiot to come in with me, buy a 500 quid banger, strip it and do "that german circuit"
(with no "crap i've just crashed my car" worries)

Now i'm thinking ..... then i could look at doing this in it ........... Arrgghhhhhh

Life is full of temptations. You just have to learn to say no.

Of course, life is also very short.......

Thanks James

I know Gordon Hick reasonably well (competed with him last season and had a meal with him last week) and I'm sure I also know Wyn Gray (lives in my town )- both are great fans of this kind of event.

Sadly, I don't have a hand built sports car - I do have a spare Locost chassis in a mate's attic though........

MikeR

Still tempted?

Rover 200 1.4 - 104BHP and cheap as chips! Throw in a cage, make a couple of guards for underneath, set of control tyres and away you go.........
