Not sure if this has been covered already. But spotted this in a link from another site, worth remembering if something sounds to good to be true.....................

JoelP - 14/2/07 at 10:30 PM

fook me thats bad. very bad

if that guy gets found he will most certainly get battered to death, and for a change, i think that would actually be a fair fate.

Humbug - 14/2/07 at 10:47 PM

thieving tnuc! it makes you sick when this type of thing happens, especially when it's on an enthusiasts' forum with supposedly like-minded people. I hope the bobbies collar him... if not, then the Ford guys going to visit him would probably get some satisfaction

Grrr!

JoelP - 14/2/07 at 10:55 PM

makes chris's 10 post rule before selling stuff seem a much better idea now!

McLannahan - 14/2/07 at 10:56 PM

Wasn't just the Ford forum!

He's done this on Manta forum, VW Golf Forum, Escort forum and a Landy one too!

All same story - very popular cheap parts, no photos and no collection possible...

Scum. Just scum.

stevec - 14/2/07 at 11:03 PM

I am not convinced that if a prick like that turned up on here that there would be the same bunch of Lemmings rushing to send their hard earned quite so readily. The alarm bells would ring I reckon.

If something seems to good to be true, it usually is!

James - 15/2/07 at 11:45 AM

Feel really sorry for the people involved I have to say.
Feel quite sorry for the guy who LR identity the thief has taken!

The bloke's clearly Englsh (style of language is hardly Nigerian 419 scam!), so that's in the Police's (or vigilantes! ) favour for tracking him down.

But if he's discuised his IP etc. presumable it's impossible to catch him. Even if you've got access to his ISP's records.

EDIT: having said that, interesting that someone who's brother lives near the (supposed) address of the thief, has posted that a load of Police turned up at the address yesterday!

Cheers,
James

If he's taking the money in a paypal account then he'll have had to have given PP a bank account which will probably be traceable, unless he's managed to open it with fake id...

JoelP - 15/2/07 at 09:42 PM

what really scares me is someone searching the electoral roll for people with similar names, and posting their addresses on the internet. Assuming the crim has half a brain cell, his name will be nothing to do with the one given, so innocent people risk being dragged into this. Thats bang out of order. What if some equally thick vigilantee decides to visit the addresses?

andyps - 16/2/07 at 01:55 PM

I feel sorry for anyone who has lost out in this way, but whenever I see something for sale on here I always look at how many posts the person has made and would be very cautious if it was under 100 - it would be pretty easy to rack up 10 posts here without showing any lack of knowledge - look at how much useless stuff I have posted

daryl - 24/6/12 at 06:12 AM

Scum just pure scum

owelly - 24/6/12 at 06:51 AM

Crikey! There's a post resurection if ever there was one!

BenB - 24/6/12 at 09:25 AM

Looks like someone's kit has a flux capacitor and accidentally went faster than 88mph

rodgling - 25/6/12 at 09:18 AM

I got done by one of these. Rounded up all the other victims and went to the police, who prosecuted him and gave him a two year suspended sentence. Haven't seen any compensation and probably never will but it was good to see him in the dock looking poo scared.
