can anyone tell me the minimum height from the ground for stop tail lights for sva is the height of 350mm to the centre of the lense

Watch out, at SVA I was failed for , among other things , not having my tail and brake lights vertical, it seems that the interpretation of "facing backwards" now includes vertically as well as horizontally, previously only the reversing and rear fog were deemed to be vertical by necessity.

thanks it looks like the measurement is to the centre of lenses in the manual only problem is if you move the lights further up the wing they are not vertical

Minimum height is measured to the lowest point on the lense. Maximum is to the top of the lense.

I think they may do the measurement with the driver inside as well which may lower the lights slightly or quite alot in my case Can this be confirmed by somebody who's done sva please.

Good point and quite correct Rich. I remember reading this on someone's SVA report in the past week or so - not sure if it was here, the Tiger list or someones website but it was a narrow fail with the driver in so they had to cover the bottom of the foglight lense with tape to get a pass.

Unless they've changed the manual hat sounds like a wrong interpretation by the tester to me. As far as I remember, only the fog light (not the reverse) needs to be vertical; the other ones can be at an angle as long as the "angles of visibility" (defined in the manual) are correct. I have the rear light clusters flush with the back panel, i.e. at an angle to the vertical, but no comment was made at SVA.
