Im hoping to get most of my chassis (up to seat backrest) tacked by the end of the year. The question is can i then fully weld it and start on the rear afterwards? THis would give me more room and allow my grandad to start work on the engine. I cant see a problem with this but thought id ask anyway.
I did but I'm not sure whether or not its a good idea.
Pesonally, I see no reason why you souldn't fully weld the chassis once you have the seat back area in place. 
You are very unlikely to distort the area's forward of the seat back by fabricating the aft end.
Doubtless. there will be a few who dissagree though. 
If you have a good general understanding of the weld procedure, how each joint will react when fully welded. Anything is possible.
In the right circumstances. weld distortion can be your friend & in fact turned to good use.
