Postage to Germany

What would be the best way of sending a gearbox to Germany as i have just sold one on ebay, even though i put post to uk only.

That is going to be one expensive parcel to send.

How heavy is it ??

You may find that it is very difficult to find anyone to carry it. Being it is a gearbox with possible contaminates.

had a bike posted out to Germany from the UK and that was only 14Kg packaged yet it still cost about 90 quid.

I would remind the buyer that it was a UK only listing and tell him to arrange his own courier at his own expense if he wants the box. Unless you have made a big pile of cash from the sale. Then it may be worth the effort.

I've used parcel2go.co.uk it lets you get quotes based on size, weight and destination. they collect it from your home too. But posting heavy stuff abroad is very expensive. A pair of shocks to Italy cost me £30 recently. And a pair of brake calipers to Canada is about £45.
