I should have stayed in bed!!
Took youngest to school
Drove the 7 odd mile trip to get VW serviced
Get stuck on A22 for an hour
Turn up at garage "Sorry Mr West but you're not booked in till NEXT Wednesday
D'OH! (and i find it's on the calendar when i get home!
Get call from youngest school "Can you pick your son up he looks green and about to throw up" Ok that screws up my plans for food shopping
and general running errands
Decide to clear out my office ready for the dump, start to hoover and the damn Dyson decides to make funny noises and blue smoke starts pouring out
the sides
That's another £150 odd for a new hoover
And it's only 11:25 boo hoo
But i have my Cobra on order

trust you to point that out!

Hey ho Andy - life's a bummer, then you get to drive a Cobra
sounds like the day i had yesterday turned on the printer in work started printing then it tops halfway through a job message then pops up saying it
needs a service reset
I then phone Canon to ask WTF it means answer £140:
printer now in the bin
and I have to print every thing out in black and white
oh the joy!!
Glad i'm not the only one!
Oh and my other son's pooter is on the fritz
Just phoned Dyson and they do not give life time guarentees.
btw, Andy... there seem to be quite a few Cobra-related bits for sale on the bay at the mo
Yep, all the stuff i don't need
Got other stuff to buy 1st then i gotta refurb the brakes, run the lines and save up for my thumpin V8 motor
he he.
Chill out man, worse things happen at sea...
The letter will arrive the day after we get a new vacuum cleaner

In which case you can get it fixed or a new one for £49 and flog whatever cleaner you dont want.
Have you had a look on internet for extended warranties? If someone tells you the company you may just be able to contact them.
There's always the contents insurance? Sounds like you had some sort of electrical storm that caused both the Dyson and computer to malfunction?

Andy,
Working on dysons is a peice of p!$s...
The motors usually go on eBay for around £40, and let's face it, it's never usually anything more than the motor.
I was rather impressed when my DC05 went. 6 inch flames from the exhaust hole!
We're now a 4 dyson family because so many people are fligging their old dysons on eBay which are easily fixable.
Got one for upstrairs, one for downstairs, one for the garage and now one 'for best'

Are you sure its not just the belt? this has happened on our dyson a few times
My motor was £20 off the Dock of the Bay and took me all told 30 mins to replace. I also at the same time did the filters for good measure. Now she
has no reason to complain!

Our Dyson (DC05) had become very poor in picking up anything compared to when it was new (despite the advertising). SWMBO was determined to buy a new
vacuum but let me have a go at fixing it (having decided to blame me for hovering up the plaster dust after the last decorating episode).
Took 2 minutes looking for the problem to see the venturies were completely blocked with random assorted fluff/hair - for some (presumably good
aerodynamic) reason they have little bridges across the hole which cause them to collect the crap. Unfortunately it then took an hour with a long bit
of wire to clean them all out. Treated it to a new foam filter since it was looking a bit sad after having been washed out so many time. And bingo it
was like a new one all over again.
Dyson spares are easily available for decent prices without resorting to e-bay.
