Pinto C'Head Ball Pin Adjuster Nuts
James - 27/1/04 at 11:57 AM

Just putting my cyl' head back together

When I loosened the ball pin adjusters I didn't as Heynes says "Note their locations for use when refitting!" So I've no idea how much to wind them back up now that the rockers are on top.

Any idea how I should get this right?

I'm guessing it's with a feeler gauge between the rocker and the cam but not sure!

Any info greatfully recieved!

Thanks,

James

feeler guage between cam and rocker pad

follow the destructions in the haynes manual and you wont go far wrong

Turn the cam so the lobe peak is facing up and then check the gap between the base of the lobe and the follower 0.20mm inlet 0.25mm exhaust I reckon should do it.

Got that job done now. I've never used feeler gauges before!

Thanks again,

It's all about getting your hands dirty and learning.

Did you get your hands dirty?

You've just inspired me to whip the cover off my girlfriends Fez and actually adjust the valve clearances. It sounds like a bloody sewing machine. It is an old banger that cost next to nowt though.
