bike carb inlet connecting hose

hi ,
i have a set of bike carbs like meny people do,
i have noticed that the silicon hose that holds the carbs to the inlet manifold has already perished,now i know the hose is not ment for fuel,but this is how alot of people do this.
the other thing is is that i have done all of 150 odd miles,
there has to be a better way of doing this,
has anyone sorted somthing

there is a type of silicone hose which is flouro-something lined which is supposed to be ok for petrol. expensive though

Perished after 150 miles?!

Mines done about 1500 and all is well. All be it they arnt blue anymore.

cant you get a set of inlet rubbers off the motorcycle the carbs came from?? I did and they've been fine cb600 hornet honda

iv looked at that,
it says it can be conacted with oil and fuel just not for a long time,
i dont know wether it would be worth the 50 quid,

also to be true i have no confidance in the carbs,
thay keep poping off the hoses i have now super glued them.
but it ant a nice thort when driving that one of the four carbs might be letting in to much air coz it has poped off the hose,

is normal black rubber radiator hose better fuel resistant?

i bought some fuel filler hose (thought it should be good for petrol ) but the rubber was so thick that the clamps wouldn't hold on the carbs properly.

have you got any photos of the ends of the manifold tubes and the clamps you're using to hold it all together?

Mine have done over 2000 miles and still look the same as new, had to make an ali angle cradle to keep them on though. The last time they popped off was last winter down a dark lane with only a lighter for assistance. Time to call the AA and sort them out once and for all in the morning

I bought some premium quality commercial coolant hose (black) for mine. I since sold the half length i had so dont have the details. I did however post about it a few times so it will probs come up on a search. I bought it from local engineering spares place.
