Ive always wondered with the vid, why it
shakes so much? Surely the fastest the
engine will vibrate is going to be the revs?

I but someone here knows...

I would guess they are using a strobe, running at a slightly higher frequency than the engine, to illuminate the chamber rather than a high speed camera.

I wonder why you do not see a full cycle so you could see the valve overlap.

we used to have an optical walled single cylinder lotus engine at uni (loughborough)

was really cool to view into the combustion chamber while its running. The were also testing a lot of clever things like direct injection for petrol and hydraulic valve actuation for road going cars.... quite cool things going on..
