I've got hold of a 1.6cvh Westfield engine with a lightened flywheel and an AP racing clutch. Fitted it together with my MT75 gearbox and slid it
into the car only to find out the clutch release bearing doesn't reach the pressure plate ?!?!?!? Stupidly I should have checked this whilst on
the garage floor - won't do that again!?!?
Has anyone else tried this set up? (CVH to MT75 not the stupid mistake!) I'm assuming a Westfield modified Zetec bearing will sort it but at £62
quid for a bit of ali glued to a ten quid bearing I want to be sure.
Are there any other obvious potential issues ahead for me (I've got a specially made prop shaft etc - Dan Mac superb)
Straight forward bolt up exercise, with the right bits...
Plenty of info on the 'net for the correct bearing but I think you will be disappointed with the 1.6 cvh....
Yeah...from memory you glue a 19mm spacer to release bearing...

+1
Same as a zetec.

Thanks for the responses.
I previously had a knackered 1300 X/Flow so anything's better than that.
The CVH has uprated cams, ignition and head etc. I've been told it dyno'd at 130 bhp...might be a little optimistic but we'll find out
soon enough.
Cheers
standard 1300 xflow is exactly what i had and can say the ported 1600 cvh was a vast improvement 130bhp cvh possible but may be bit optomistic, as a guide do you know what cam its running and if still hydraulic lifters or solid RS ones, as this would be a good guide to what power potential.
From what I can find out, it's a CVH33 cam, ported and polished head with bigger valves etc (not sure how much bigger) Twin weber 40 carbs plus a
2" 4-2-1 exhaust.
I'm trying to go back to Westfield and get the full specs but their not overly helpful (and a nightmare on spigot bearing supplies!!! - my tip
for he day...avoid Westfield unless you have no alternative!)
sounds a good spec
good cvh tuning info
